Choosing the right ski level is one of the most important decisions before booking ski or snowboard lessons in Les 2 Alpes.

Whether you join a group lesson or a private lesson, being placed in a group that matches your ability allows you to progress faster, enjoy your skiing more and stay safe on the slopes.

Absolute Beginners
Absolute beginners are people who have never skied before. They need specific instruction covering equipment, movement on flat terrain, stopping, lifts and first turns. For this reason, absolute beginners should always ski with other absolute beginners.

Beginners
This category includes skiers with a few days up to one week of skiing experience. They know the basics and may already be skiing on easy green or blue runs, but they are still learning and should not be mixed with absolute beginners or intermediate skiers.

Intermediate Skiers
Intermediate skiers can make parallel or nearly parallel turns on blue runs. This category is very varied, as confidence, fitness, age and personal goals all influence skiing ability. At this stage it is important to explain your objectives to the instructor.

Advanced Skiers
Advanced skiers can comfortably ski red and black runs using parallel turns with good control and speed. They can adapt their skiing to snow conditions, terrain and piste traffic.

How to Choose the Right Level?
If you are unsure between two levels, we generally recommend choosing the lower one. It is easier for an instructor to help a slightly underestimated skier progress quickly than to place someone in a group that is too advanced.
